Starlink may have less latency and higher speeds, but it is not yet available in South Africa, and many of these existing services start from around only R710 per month. But note the fair use policies and any contract lock in periods.
Starlink seems to be struggling to clear South Africa’s regulatory hurdles but there are already several satellite Internet providers available in the country.
@Danie Maybe a question or only a comment: In your postings in my infobox i see the ALT-Tag of the picture as information, not the headline. On all other postings it isnt like yours, normally it is the hedline (if there is one) As an example:
@tom s the alt text is for sight impaired people so that they can understand what the image is about. So yes it is not supposed to be the title of the post, but rather a description of what the photo itself is showing. Normally you see the alt text if you hover over the image only, but I've also noticed Friendica seems label the notifications using that alt text. Not sure if it is something I can disable somewhere on #Friendica.
